Hello, I'm Freya Tan. I began my career in Venture Capital, focusing on emerging technologies like digital twins and semiconductors. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Financial Management and Law—allowing me to navigate both technical and regulatory domains.
Now I work as an Industry Analyst at GYDA (https://gyda.online/), a French non-profit founded by former UNEP, WIPO, Fidelity leadership and Turing Award laureates.
My work centers on the sustainability of blockchain infrastructure. The environmental impact of PoW crypto mining remains worrying. Meanwhile, the rise of RWA, on-chain derivatives, and institutional participation is reshaping the decentralized ecosystem and adding regulatory complexity. Leveraging my interdisciplinary background, I analyze these shifts through the lens of technology, economics, and policy—seeking to understand how next-generation financial primitives can contribute to a more scalable, energy-efficient, and inclusive decentralized ecosystem.
